In present-day research activities, analytical instrumentation is an essential component of chemical and biological studies. The precision and reproducibility have increased the dependence of researchers on instrumental methods of analysis. Effective adaptation of the technical developments in instrumental analysis requires working talents to operate and maintain these sophisticated instruments. Keeping in view of these aspects, an internship training programme is scheduled to create a pool of technically competent manpower for handling analytical instruments.

Objectives of the programme are;

  1. To equip the Students with the theoretical aspects of different analytical methods such as spectroscopy, chromatography etc.
  2. Impart training on procedures in handling sophisticated analytical instruments including GC-MS, HPLC, HPTLC, XRD, ICP-AES, AAS and FT-IR etc
  3. Training on data keeping and routine maintenance of analytical instruments.

Targeted Trainees

This internship training is designed to equip the students with theoretical knowledge and hands-on exposure in the fields of analytical instruments applicable in the research areas of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Science etc. On successful completion of the period, an exam will be conducted and certificates will be issued.

Selection Procedure

Selection to the programme will be based on post-graduation (PG) mark merit and aptitude test. Those who completed the PG course within the last 3 years will be prioritised. Interested candidates are requested to send their resumes, a statement of purpose, copies of PG certificates and mark sheets to the address given below, on or before the last date. "Application for Internship training in analytical instrumentation" should be written on the cover.
